More Than a Game
Reframing Gendered Stereotypes
Background/Insight
Women are given where they are pressured to perform and they are judged how well they are able to conform to what society deems as attractive.
I worked with teammates who had backgrounds in graphic design and film to create a media artifact for a gender media studies class. I was tasked as producer/art director. Together, my team and I made a social media carosuel with our research and photos I took.
Questions
I wanted to communicate dynamic and dramatic movements partnered with hyper feminine styling (heels, short-shorts, jewelry, tight silouettes). Shout out to Cori who did an incredible job understanding the vision.
Hand with jewelry on top signifies that apperance overweighs the actual performace hence the goalie gloves on the bottom
